Aha! Danandleah.com works again.

So my friend the computer guy, who I pay to host danandleah.com, recommended that I delete most of the blog. Instead, I went to the dashboard and changed a "50 mb" to a "100 mb" and we're back in business.

Max has changed schools and he loves his new digs. At first, when he heard about his new teachers, Shirley and Carleen, he said, "I don't like those names." But he got over it. Now he talks about them all the time and refuses to go home at the end of the day.

He has also rekindled his love for Bruce. At the end of my rope one night when he had rejected every song I tried to sing him, I resorted to "Highway Patrolman" the song off Nebraska that Sean Penn turned into a super-weird movie called The Indian Runner. I am proud to say that Max is now unwilling to go to sleep without singing it twice. The themes and lyrics of the song fall into the not-quite-right-for-two-year-olds category. If you don't know the song, it's about two brothers, one a cop and one a criminal. After years of bailing out his ne'er do well sibling, the cop eventually responds to bar fight in which his brother has beaten the snot out of someone. The drive out of Ohio and through Michigan, and then the cop lets his little brother drive into Canada, where they apparently have no laws.

Among the questions I wasn't prepared for, all based on lyrics he doesn't understand:
- "What's blood on blood?"
- "Why was the man bleeding?"
- "Do the police come if you hit someone?"

He is beginning to learn all the words and also how to use itunes, which is a program I have decided I hate. No mp3s? Bad news for people like us who use off-brand music players. While listening to the song for the 9 millionth time and looking at the images of all of Bruce's album covers, Max declared that he wanted a picture of Bruce, but not the head shot on "Magic." He said, "I want one with his legs."

So we're in the market for a Bruce poster. With legs.
